Copyright and DMCA

The written copy, the estimate tables, the design and the code of this site belong to us. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, send a notice and we will look at it.

Last updated: · What changed: Clearer privacy wording, an email-only reserve instead of pay buttons, and a copyright page.

What this covers

This policy covers the site itself: page copy, the room-by-room estimate data, the label layouts, the checklists, the design, the mark and the code. It does not cover anything you make with the tools. Calculations run in your browser, labels and PDFs are generated on your device, and the text you type is never uploaded, so we hold no copy of your lists and there is nothing of yours here for us to remove.

What you may do

You may print, download and use the labels, checklists and PDFs for your own move, and for a move you are helping with, as often as you like. Linking to any page is always fine. Quoting a short extract with a link back is fine. What you may not do is copy the site's written copy or its estimate tables wholesale, resell or redistribute the PDFs as a product, or present this site's wording, numbers or design as your own.

How to send a takedown notice

Email support@movingboxcalc.site with the subject "Copyright notice". To be actionable under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), a notice should include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  • The exact URL on this site of the material you say is infringing, specific enough for us to find it.
  • Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.

What happens next

We remove or change material that a valid notice identifies, and we tell the person who supplied it where that applies. If you believe material was removed by mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address with the same detail and your consent to a court's jurisdiction. We keep a record of valid notices and will refuse repeat infringers.

Not a legal service

This page explains our own policy in plain words. It is not legal advice, and nothing here waives any right we have.
